Stay in sync with your band — mention someone with @, chat in the band channel, swap direct messages, and get notified when something needs your attention. Messaging runs across the app, not only on one menu page.

Mentions

In any text field that supports it, type @ and pick a band member from the list; Enter or Tab confirms the mention and adds a trailing space so you can keep typing. Type @all (or choose Notify everyone from the list) to notify every band member — that creates a notification on the bell for each person, not just a chat line. Mentioned people get a notification according to their preferences — in-app by default, optionally email, web push, or native push on mobile.

Band chat groups and direct messages

Each band has a default Everyone group for the whole band. Additional groups (for example merch, writing, or tech) appear under Groups in the chat sidebar. Groups can be visible to everyone in the band or limited to selected members.

Use the + button (when you have permission) to create a group. Open a group’s settings to rename it, change members, archive it, or leave a private group.

Direct messages between two users appear under Direct messages in the sidebar.

The floating chat bubble (bottom-right on most pages) opens the default Everyone group for the active band — same @ mentions apply. Messaging is the full-page view with history.

Messages post immediately; refresh is handled in the background on open panels.

While typing a message, the input grows up to four lines; on longer text you can scroll inside the field. On desktop you can also expand the composer with the chevron above the input.

When you paste a link, chat shows a preview card. Links to pages inside the app (for example a song, gig, rehearsal, or setlist) show that item’s title and an icon instead of a login page preview. External links still show a normal site preview.

In a chat, tap the search icon in the top bar to search within that conversation. Matches are highlighted; use the up/down arrows (or Enter / Shift+Enter) to move between results. The counter shows your position (for example 3/12).

On the chat list, tap the search icon next to + to search across all your band chats and direct messages. Pick a result to open that chat at the matching message.

Notifications

The bell in the header shows unread count (excluding chat-message badges, which use the chat icon). Open Notifications for two tabs:

  • New — unread notifications only (mentions, system, comments — not chat lines). Use Mark all read to move everything to Archive, or Select all then Delete / Unread.
  • Archive — previously read notifications. Delete all clears the archive (with confirmation). Select rows to delete or mark unread again.

Click a row with a linked page to open it. Chat message alerts stay under Messaging, not in this list.

Preferences

Account → Messaging preferences (or Messaging → preferences) sets digest frequency (instant, hourly, or daily), which channels carry mentions (in-app, email, web push, native push), and quiet hours when non-urgent alerts should wait.

When something goes wrong

No mention popup — confirm you typed @ inside a supported editor and selected someone from the band list.

Push not arriving — enable the channel in preferences and allow notifications in the browser or phone settings.

Chat bubble missing — select a band; band chat requires an active band context.
