Metronome Module - User Manual
Introduction
The Metronome module provides a built-in metronome tool to help you practice with consistent timing. It features adjustable tempo, tap tempo functionality, and visual/audio feedback.
Getting Started
Accessing the Metronome
- Click "Metronome" in the main menu (under "Tools")
- The metronome interface will open
- No band selection required - available to all users
Permissions
The Metronome module requires no special permissions. All logged-in users can access it.
Using the Metronome
Setting the Tempo
You can set the tempo in three ways:
- BPM input – Type a number (40–300) in the tempo field
- Up/Down arrows – Click the chevron buttons to increase or decrease BPM
- Tap tempo – Click the "Tap tempo" button in rhythm; the metronome detects and sets the tempo from your taps (use at least 2 taps)
Starting and Stopping
- Play – Click the play button to start the metronome
- Stop – Click the stop button to pause
- The metronome runs until you stop it
Visual Feedback
- The tap button flashes on each beat when the metronome is playing
- Tapping the tap button also gives a visual flash
Mute
- Click the volume icon to mute or unmute the click sound
- The metronome continues (with visual feedback) when muted

- Start slow - Begin at a comfortable tempo
- Gradually increase - Speed up as you improve
- Use consistently - Practice with metronome regularly

Using Tap Tempo
- Play or think the rhythm you want
